Jack Chisholm has only one remaining purpose in what remains of his life: vengeance. He is tormented by dreams of a past he would like to forget and a world that barely passes for a shadow of itself.
The countryside in which Jack and his young son now live, handing out death and carnage, is a crumbling relic. A broken reminder of its former glory.
Jack doesn’t care. He only has eyes for one man: a faceless, shapeless stranger known only as the Prophet.
Is there a path to salvation in this dusty no-man’s land at the edge of the world? If there is, can Jack even see it while staring down the barrel of a gun?
Perhaps more importantly…does he even want to?

In this apocalyptic world, the last policeman of a dead city will cross a wasteland of dying towns and the grim dangers of a desert landscape to bring his family to safety. Joined by a small-town sheriff and a sickly prostitute named Bucket, Jack Chisholm and his son Pete will search the Earth for the last Far God and along the way fight gunslingers, gunpriests, and deadly wizards, half-human spiders and Grim Reapers. And before the quest is over, Jack and his traveling companions will uncover a destiny that could save their world or destroy it forever.
